Celebrate Oktoberfest at Mount Lemmon Lodge

August 20, 2026

September 19–October 18, 2026 | Saturdays & Sundays

Fall in the Santa Catalina Mountains is already something worth celebrating. Add authentic German beer, bratwurst, live music, festive décor, and crisp mountain air, and you have the makings of an Oktoberfest weekend unlike anywhere else in Southern Arizona.

Oktoberfest at Mount Lemmon Lodge

From September 19 through October 18, Mount Lemmon Lodge will celebrate Oktoberfest every Saturday and Sunday, bringing a taste of Bavaria to the mountain at 7,700 feet.

Whether you make the scenic drive up from Tucson for the afternoon or turn your visit into a mountain getaway, expect good food, cold beer, music, dancing, and plenty of Oktoberfest spirit.

Authentic Oktoberfest Beer in the Mountains

No Oktoberfest would be complete without German beer, and this year Mount Lemmon Lodge will be serving authentic Oktoberfest beer imported from Germany and available on tap at Beyond Bread.

To make the experience even more memorable, the Mount Lemmon Lodge Gift Shop will offer limited-edition etched beer mugs. Purchase one to take home as a keepsake, or, bring it over to the café and have it filled with Oktoberfest beer while you enjoy the festivities.

With cooler temperatures, mountain views, and a terrace surrounded by the forest, it may be one of the most scenic places in Arizona to raise a stein.

Bratwurst, Sauerkraut & Beyond Bread

Beyond Bread will get into the Oktoberfest spirit with a special bratwurst and sauerkraut sandwich, available during Oktoberfest weekends.

Pair it with a German Oktoberfest beer and enjoy lunch outside on the Lodge terrace while taking in the changing season and cooler mountain weather.

Beyond Bread is located inside Mount Lemmon Lodge, making it easy to grab something to eat between live music, shopping, and exploring Summerhaven.

Oktoberfest Music on the Mountain

Music will play a major role in the celebration.

Select Music on the Mountain performances will take on an Oktoberfest theme, creating a lively weekend atmosphere on the terrace. When live musicians aren’t performing, Bavarian music will keep the celebration going throughout the Lodge.

Guests are encouraged to get involved—whether that means dancing on the terrace, singing along, or arriving dressed for the occasion.

Lederhosen and dirndls are definitely welcome.

A Lodge Transformed for Oktoberfest

Throughout the celebration, Mount Lemmon Lodge will take on a distinctly Bavarian feel.

Look for seasonal fall and Oktoberfest decorations throughout the property, including the outdoor booth and elevator lobby. Lodge staff will also join the fun with Bavarian hats, suspenders, Oktoberfest pins, and other festive attire.

Guests are encouraged to dress up too, helping turn each weekend into a colorful mountain celebration.

The goal is simple: create an Oktoberfest that feels festive and interactive without losing the relaxed atmosphere that makes a day on Mount Lemmon so enjoyable.

Limited-Edition Oktoberfest Merchandise

Before heading home, stop by the Mount Lemmon Lodge Gift Shop for seasonal souvenirs and Oktoberfest merchandise.

Among this year’s offerings will be:

  • Limited-edition Mount Lemmon Lodge etched beer mugs
  • Oktoberfest pins
  • Seasonal Mount Lemmon Lodge merchandise

Quantities on some items may be limited, so if you see something you like, don’t wait until the final weekend.

A Family-Friendly Oktoberfest Above Tucson

Mount Lemmon Lodge’s Oktoberfest is designed to be a family-friendly mountain celebration, so you don’t have to be a beer drinker to enjoy it.

Come for the food, live music, dancing, seasonal décor, mountain scenery, or simply an excuse to escape Tucson’s warmer temperatures and spend a fall afternoon among the pines.

And because Oktoberfest coincides with one of the most beautiful times of year on Mount Lemmon, visitors can easily combine the celebration with a scenic drive, hiking, exploring Summerhaven, or enjoying the changing fall colors around the mountain.

Make an Oktoberfest Weekend of It

While Oktoberfest makes a great day trip from Tucson, staying overnight gives you more time to enjoy the mountain after the daytime crowds begin heading downhill.

Spend the afternoon celebrating on the terrace, explore Mount Lemmon and Summerhaven, then settle in for a cool mountain evening at the Lodge.
