Bring your dancing shoes and your festive spirit—The Bouncing Czechs, Tucson’s beloved polka band, are bringing Oktoberfest to the mountains as part of the Music on the Mountain concert series at Mount Lemmon Lodge.
Formed from the Tucson Czech-Slovak Club, this lively five-piece band has been entertaining Arizona audiences for more than 27 years. Known for their upbeat polka rhythms and traditional Czech and Slovak favorites, The Bouncing Czechs perform year-round across the state, from arts festivals and casinos to private celebrations and community events—but they’re especially popular during Oktoberfest season.
With members donning classic lederhosen and delivering joyful, toe-tapping performances, The Bouncing Czechs create an atmosphere that’s equal parts cultural celebration and pure fun. Led by tuba player John Prokop, and featuring accordion, clarinet, trumpet, and drums, their seasoned musicianship and infectious energy make for a memorable afternoon on the mountain.
