Traditional Bluegrass with Kenneth Brown & Permafrost Road
Kenneth Brown with Permafrost Road
Music on the Mountain Performance
Sunday, September 20th, 2026 | 1:00–4:00 PM
Enjoy an afternoon of traditional bluegrass with Kenneth Brown and Permafrost Road, a Tucson-based band bringing high-energy acoustic music to the Music on the Mountain concert series at Mount Lemmon Lodge.
Originally formed by former Alaskans who eventually found their way to Southern Arizona, Permafrost Road blends classic bluegrass traditions with the spirit of wide-open landscapes—north and south. Today’s lineup features Kenneth Brown on guitar and dobro, alongside Dan Mullin (upright bass), Jon Kinnaman (mandolin and guitar), Bill Paul (banjo), and John Adams (fiddle), creating a full, richly layered sound driven by tight harmonies and spirited instrumentation.
Known for their appearances at local favorites like the Desert Bluegrass Festival and Tucson Porch Fest, Permafrost Road delivers music that’s rooted in tradition yet alive with personality. Their performances highlight everything bluegrass fans love—quick-picking banjo, expressive fiddle lines, warm dobro tones, and driving rhythm—making for an engaging and upbeat live experience.
Join us Sunday, September 20th from 1–4 PM for a relaxed mountain afternoon filled with classic bluegrass, expert musicianship, and the welcoming atmosphere that makes Music on the Mountain a seasonal favorite.
