Just the beginning

Now that fall is here, the sky is clear! The foundation is down, and Mount Lemmon Lodge is ready to rise!

Now autumn brings us a moment of calm and we are thrilled to resume construction. The slab is poured, foundation drains are in, and the stem walls and footings are sealed. Walk by and you will see our talented and hard-working crew on scaffolding to build the masonry walls, which should be finished by mid-November!

The mountains are calling

Dense forest of pine and fir made way for creeks. We listened to the rustling of the trees and the call of blue jays, encouraging us to explore our mountain playground. At night the crisp air made the stars sparkle while we shared stories by the fireside. All through the village, the wind carried the sound of laughter and music from the lodge. This was our home on Mount Lemmon in the Santa Catalinas.

In 2003, darkness descended when the Aspen Fire consumed our beloved mountain, homes, and lodge, but it could never dampen our memories with family and friends on the mountain. The village of Summerhaven once again began to rebuild and the forest slowly recover.

The Alpine tradition of the lodges that once graced Summerhaven and family travels to Europe influenced our vision for a lodge. Although more modern than its predecessors, this lodge offers rustic elegance and warmth in guest rooms, a café, and gift shop. The forest garden next door will provide a whimsical escape with an outdoor fireplace and game terraces, surrounded by aspen, pine, alder, and fruit trees.

In Summerhaven, the lodge and village join hands to welcome you to our woodlands where you will be pampered with alpine luxury, delicious food, and unique shopping. We will guide you to the best mountain activities or to a panoramic view of Southern Arizona. The Crown of the Santa Catalina calls you to join the magic.
