Towering thousands of feet above the Sonoran Desert, the Santa Catalinas are considered a sky island. For millennium people have visited the mountain regions to escape the heat and play where there’s water and bountiful wildlife. This remains true today, making Mount Lemmon Southern Arizona’s year-round playground.
The Grounds
The Mount Lemmon Lodge grounds are home to an alpine forest garden filled with local flora and fruit trees. Eventually, it will also house a community garden. The gardens offer a variety of seating and game terraces, a kiosk available for private event catering, an exercise facility, and bathrooms that utilize harvested rainwater. The grounds also offer a hot tub and sauna for relaxation after a day spent exploring the various outdoor activities Mount Lemmon has to offer.
